My workout: Day 1

I was saying over and over that I was going to work out when the new year started. Well here it is the end of February and I am just now deciding to do something. Of course I have made attempts since January and gave up with each one. This time I actually kept going and pushed through the burn. What made it easier to get through was listening to Rihanna's new album on repeat, which is totally AMAZING by the way. Listening to music with a beat that is similar to the pace you are trying to go is very helpful and is definitely something that I suggest you try at home.  During this workout session I started off with about 15 minutes of yoga. Following that I did 3 reps of 15 squats, 2 reps of 15 side leg raises (one side = one rep), 2 reps of 15 hip raises/bridge/butt lifts, 2 reps of 15 fire hydrants, and  I only managed to do 5 push ups. I finished off with 30 minutes of dancing(hard dancing) and some cool down stretches. I have my own yoga flow that I do and it does not in...

Pregnancy and Exercise -- Get Active Or Be A Couch Potato??

Some people continue to work out throughout their entire pregnancy while others barely want to get out of the bed or off the couch. If your one of the people who feel extremely lazy, keep in mind that a little exercise daily will make your birthing experience easier in addition to other benefits. You do not have to go out and do a hard break a sweat workout routine, but working out 30 minutes a day is really good for you. Of course, if you have not worked out in a while I would suggest starting off with 10 minutes a day and working your way up to 30 minutes daily. If you can not do it daily just try and do it as often as possible throughout the week.      A few of the great benefits of working out while pregnant are:  A boost in your energy and mood Prevents excess weight gain Increases stamina and muscle strength Can help ease or prevent back pain Helps you sleep Some great exercises to try things like going to moderate paced walks, getting on t...

WARM UP WORKOUT ROUTINE

Image
I was referred to www.zuzkalight.com from a friend. They suggested I check her out when I told them that I am looking for a exercise routine for women that builds muscle and isn't for losing weight. Her body is so toned and she is in great shape. Some of the areas I want to work on are my arms and legs. I want to gain mass and since gaining weight from eating more food doesn't seem to be working, maybe it will with exercise to go along with it. She has routines on youtube and they are routines that actually work. After this yoga challenge is over, I will be posting her 30 day challenge. By the end of it your arms, legs and abs will look amazing.

Ouch! is the first thing that comes to mind when I think of me trying to do a split. Thankfully in this routine I learned some great stretches that help me to ease into to yoga splits. Remember not to push yourself too far when attempting these. Listen to your body! When it says stop, please listen! I believe that you all will this.

DAY 15 : 30 DAY YOGA CHALLENGE

Image
This is an awesome yoga flow that will for sure have you feeling great! I plan to add this to my daily routine. The constant motion keeps the daily motions from getting boring and too repetitive. From doing these past 14 days of yoga I have learned new poses that I can add to the flow and therefore create my own. You all should try it. Things are always better when its customized to work with your body.
