Are organic cotton tampons really better?

Image
How organic can you go really? I like the idea of an organic cotton tampon for many reasons. Did you know that our internal tissues are great at absorbing and carrying chemicals throughout the body.   Your vulvar tissue is already a very sensitive part of the body, and any synthetic and potentially irritant material can lead to discomfort, rashes, and other irritation as a result of the close skin contact.   Some tampons contain chemical fragrances and   many conventional tampons contain traces of the chemical  dioxin, which is   a known endocrine disruptor that can cause issues with your hormones. They don’t just create imbalances, they also exacerbate fertility issues, thyroid conditions, PCOS, hormonal and cystic acne, thyroid conditions, endometriosis, and even some forms of cancer . The idea of having toxic chemicals in such a sensitive area is scary. Guess what guys! They cost the same as the non-organic tampons too so it will not cost you more to ...

Pre Poo!!

Today I decided to do a pre poo on my hair for the first time. I made the pre poo out of simple things that I already had around the house. The mix was left in my hair for about an hour while I cleaned up the house. The ingredients will be listed below. Homemade Moisturizing Pre Poo   *2-3 tbsp of raw shea butter *2-3 tbsp of conditioner *4-5 drops of peppermint essential oil *4-5 drops of tea tree essential oil *4-5 drops of lavender essential oil *about 2 1/2 tbsp of grapeseed oil *about 2 1/2 tbsp of olive oil * 1tbsp of coconut milk My hair turned out very moisturized and I am happy with the results. I probably wont do this particular mix but maybe once every 3 weeks because it is thick. If I take out a style and my hair is very dry I will definitely be doing this. Background on my hair:  I took my locs out last September by combing them out. My hair was very long and I had minimal shedding. By the time February rolled around my hair had shed a lot ...

Fettuccine Pasta with Hot & Sweet Chicken Topped with a Spicy Diced Tomato Sauce

Image
This meal is perfect for people who have a love for spicy. The sauce was hot enough to make you sweat but not to the point that your mouth is on fire without a glass of milk. It definitely is not mild so if you cant handle heat this is not the meal for you.  The tomato sauce has the perfect amount of spice thanks to the Trinidad Scorpion Pepper that I let simmer in it 3 minutes (CAUTION: These peppers are extremely hot, use with care).  I used 4 types of peppers in the chicken, one being the newly harvested Lemon Drop Pepper.  I was excited to use that particular pepper because it is a rare strain. It definitely is not something that you will find in your local market. All of the peppers used in this recipe are from my home garden.    Ingredients 5 Chicken Breast Cutlets 1 Fresh Jalapeno, 1 Cow Horn Pepper, 2 Baby Bell Peppers, 2 Cayenne Peppers, Ghost Pepper, Trinidad Scorpion Pepper, and 1 Lemon Drop Pepper ( I know that some of these peppers are goi...
